Take a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at your home or business

Hello, my name is Chris Schlesinger and my company, In Home CPR, instructs on-demand, on-site safety classes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area — you choose the time and place of your class, and we bring the classroom to you.  There is no minimum number of students needed to set up a class with us.

American Heart Association Certification Classes:

  • BLS Provider (Previously called BLS for Healthcare Providers)
  • First Aid
  • First Aid CPR AED
  • Pediatric First Aid CPR AED
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Bloodborne Pathogens

American Red Cross Certification Classes:

  • First Aid
  • First Aid CPR AED
  • Pediatric First Aid CPR AED
  • Bloodborne Pathogens

We offer blended learning certifications for most American Red Cross and American Heart Association courses: part of the course on-line, then the hands-on skills of CPR and First Aid with one of our instructors. The hands-on portion is called a “skills session”.

We can also create a class that focuses on the safety skills most important to you and your family.

New!  Our classroom in Redwood City

We are now offering CPR, ACLS, BLS and First Aid classes in our Redwood City classroom. Click on San Mateo CPR Certification Classes to see dates and times for upcoming classes.

New Parents and Custom Classes

If you are pregnant or have recently given birth, you are well aware that baby safety involves learning many new skills. One of those skills is CPR training for infants, toddlers and children.  Our CPR Essentials Class is designed for new parents who want to learn infant CPR, but don’t need a CPR certification. The class also covers how to respond to choking emergencies.

Because this isn’t a certification class, it’s flexible, so we can cover the safety skills most important to you. Additional topics we can teach you to respond to: seizures, allergic reactions, using an epinephrine pen, asthma, drowning, bleeding, burns, infections, using an AED, bites and stings, sprains and broken bones.

Certification Classes for the Public

Professions and individuals that usually need a CPR AED or First Aid certification, include:

  • Athletic coach
  • Adopting parents
  • Special education teacher
  • Camp counselor
  • School bus driver
  • Personal trainer
  • Nanny
  • Au pair
  • Babysitter
  • Pharmacy technician
  • Nursing home employee
  • Construction worker

Many employers or government agencies accept both American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) certification cards, but some want one organization’s certification and not the other.  Check with the person requiring a certification if they have a preference before signing up for a class with us!

Healthcare Professionals

We offer healthcare provider BLS CPR certifications through the American Heart Association.  Their Basic Life Support Provider class (BLS) is often the preferred certification for healthcare professionals.

We do many short-notice classes for people who need a current BLS certification card for their work.  As a certified instructor for the AHA, we can give you your certification card at the end of our class.

Childcare Workers

For childcare workers, we teach the American Heart Association’s Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course.  This satisfies the requirements of the EMSA (Emergency Medical Services Authority) for California preschool and daycare workers.

Large Classes

If you have many people in need of a class, we can help you. Whether it’s your school staff, sports team, skilled nursing facility employees, or your company, we can bring the equipment and additional instructors needed to make your large class happen.

Instruction In Other Languages

We have instructors that can teach CPR classes in Russian and Spanish.
