Frequently Asked Questions About Dublin CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Dublin. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Dublin business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: I want First Aid training and also want to get a certification at my Dublin business or home.  Can I do that?

A: Yes, we teach ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid certification courses in Dublin. People often think CPR and First Aid are the same things, but they aren’t. 1st aid training covers many of the everyday medical issues we all deal with: burns, bleeding, falls, asthma, fainting – as well as topics like stroke, seizures and heart attacks. Everyone should take a first aid class because these are medical issues you’re most likely to encounter.

Q: What skills are taught in an Dublin American Heart Association BLS class?

A: Unlike a CPR class for the public, a BLS class is geared for medical professionals that may have access to additional equipment and trained personnel. Skills include: adult, child and infant CPR. 1 person, 2 person and group responses are practiced, use of an AED – automated external defibrillator, using a BVM – bag-value-mask, advanced airways, responses to choking and opioid emergencies. Anyone can take an AHA BLS certification course in Dublin.

Q: I want a baby CPR class at my Dublin home. Can my baby be present during the class?

A: Yes! Every year we instruct hundreds of infant CPR classes in Dublin and other Bay Area cities.  We’re very used to having babies present during classes and we understand if you need to take a break to tend to your baby. Unlike a class in a classroom with other students, infant CPR classes in your home are ideal because it’s just your family and the instructor. Many of our instructors have children, so we know the challenges of arranging for babysitters. Don’t sweat it – your baby is welcome to join us!

Q: Do babysitters and nannies need the same Dublin Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification as childcare and preschool teachers?

A: They do not. Babysitters and nannies are not regulated by the EMSA – the agency that requires First Aid & CPR AED certifications for licensed childcare facilities in Dublin. However, many parents like the idea that the person caring for their infant, toddler or child has CPR and First Aid training. So if you are coming to homes to take care of children, it could improve your chance of being hired if you can show a First Aid & CPR certification.

Q: I want to learn how to use an AED and it looks like I can buy one through In Home CPR. Is that true?

A: Yes, we have a relationship with an AED wholesalers and purchase AEDs for our Dublin CPR class clients. Our instructors will show you how to use an AED while doing CPR during your class.

Q: What backgrounds do your instructors have? What is their teaching style?

A: All of In Home CPR’s instructors are medical professionals. Most are EMTs, RNs, Paramedics or medical students. Our instructing style is interactive – questions are encouraged!  We want you to leave your Dublin First Aid, CPR or BLS class feeling that you had your questions answered and feel confident you can respond to a medical emergency.

Q: Do you sell AEDs to your Dublin clients?

A: Yes.  We offer discounted prices on AEDs and AEDs accessories for our First Aid, BLS and ACLS and CPR Dublin class clients. More and more businesses are purchasing AEDs because the manufacturing costs have dropped. Feel free to ask us about buying an AED.

Q: What days and times is In Home CPR available to come to my business or home in Dublin?

A: We are available seven days a week, including evenings to teach a Dublin CPR certification class at your home or business. Our instructors are all medical professionals who have real-life experience responding to medical emergencies.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
