CPR, BLS & First Aid Certification Classes Taught At Your San Carlos Home Or Business

In Home CPR is available to come to your San Carlos business or home seven days a week, including evenings. There is no minimum number of students needed to schedule a class with us.

We offer American Heart Association, ASHI and Red Cross CPR, First Aid and BLS certification classes – as well as pediatric-focus classes for new and expecting parents.

CPR Essentials

The San Carlos CPR Essentials Class is a non-certification infant and/or toddler-focused class customized for new and expecting parents. It’s an interactive class and questions are encouraged. You will learn infant CPR and responding to airway emergencies such as seizures, choking, drowning and allergic reactions.

CPR AED Class

CPR AED certification classes taught in San Carlos are an ASHI two-year certification course for non-medical professionals. This class is for people who need a CPR certification such as school teachers, personal trainers, and athletic coaches.

BLS for Healthcare Providers

American Heart Association BLS certifications in San Carlos are the certifications needed for anyone working in healthcare. This class used to be called BLS for Healthcare Providers. “Healthcare” was dropped from the name recently.

First Aid Class

San Carlos first aid classes are for non-medical professionals who need a first aid certification that meets OSHA requirements. You will receive an ASHI certification that is valid for two years.

First Aid CPR AED Classes

San Carlos certification classes for First Aid & CPR AED are ASHI certifications that meet OSHA requirements and are valid for two years. First Aid classes cover topics such as heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergencies, low blood sugar, fainting, concussions, bleeding, burns and many other common topics.

Pediatric First Aid AED CPR Class

Licensed childcare teachers require a pediatric first aid CPR certification for San Carlos that fulfills the EMSA’s licensing. We offer the American Red Cross’ certification so you’re in compliance!

ACLS Class

American Heart Association ACLS certification classes in San Carlos can be scheduled with us seven days a week. Blended learning approaches – most of the ACLS certification course online, followed by a “skills session” with our instructor is a great approach for ACLS recertification.

Frequently Asked Questions About San Carlos CPR Classes

Q: Does In Home CPR really come to my home or business to teach a class in San Carlos? Do I need to provide any resources to make this happen?

A: Our instructor will bring all of the CPR and First Aid training and audio/visual equipment to your San Carlos home or business. You only need to provide a space for our class.

Q: What are the qualifications of the instructors who will be coming to my San Carlos home or business for my CPR class?

A: All of our instructors are medical professionals. Most have worked professionally in ambulances as EMTs and Paramedics. We also have RNs. All of them take pride in the quality of their San Carlos First Aid, CPR and BLS classes. Our classes are interactive and questions are encouraged, so ask our instructors to give you extra knowledge on the First Aid and CPR topics most important to you.

Q: What is covered in a San Carlos First Aid training class at my business or home?

A: First Aid training covers bleeding, burns, bites, falls, concussions, allergic reactions and how to use an epi-pen, recognizing strokes and heart attacks, heat and cold emergencies, diabetes, asthma, broken bones and responding to choking. Our instruction style for San Carlos First Aid certificate classes is very interactive, so always let us know what topics are important to you and our instructor will spend extra time during your class covering them.

Q: I was told I need a BLS CPR class for my work in San Carlos. What is BLS?

A: We instruct American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR classes in San Carlos.  It’s a confusing class name and often gets spoken or written in shorter or longer versions of the official title.  It’s the CPR certification for everyone who works in healthcare or is a healthcare student.  BLS stands for “Basic Life Support”. The title “Healthcare” was recently removed from the name, so you will see “BLS for Healthcare Providers” still printed as the name of the course – and we still include it in our website to cue people in that it’s the class for healthcare professionals.

Q: My baby is starting to eat solid foods. Is choking covered in an San Carlos infant CPR class if you come to my home?

A: Yes, for infant CPR classes our focus is on teaching you to recognize and respond to airway issues: choking, drowning, suffocation, seizures and allergic reactions. Fortunately, it’s rare to do CPR on an infant, but when it happens, often the cause is a lack of oxygen. We bring all of the training equipment to San Carlos homes for infant CPR classes at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

Q: What CPR certification do San Carlos childcare teachers need?

A: Licensed California child care teachers need a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification for San Carlos. The certification is valid for two years and needs to be accepted by the EMSA – the agency that regulates daycares and preschools. We offer American Red Cross certifications because it’s the preferred certification for the EMSA.

Q: Can I do my CPR class online first, and then you come to my San Carlos location for practicing the skills?

A: You can do part of your First Aid, ACLS, BLS or CPR class online, but you still need to have to do a “skills session” with us to receive your certification. The American Heart Association ASHI, and the American Red Cross have quality interactive online courses. After completing the online course, our instructor comes to your San Carlos business or home to practice the skills you learned about online – practicing with the CPR manikins and first aid supplies. For example, if our instructor teaches an entire Red Cross First Aid CPR AED course at your San Carlos business or home, it will take about 4.5 to 5 hours. With the blended learning approach, the online portion takes most people between 2 to 3 hours, but this varies on people’s reading speed and familiarity with the course material. The skills session takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. This approach results in the same certification.

Q: Who are the instructors teaching your ACLS classes in San Carlos?

A: Our ACLS instructors are paramedics who know the ACLS class material extremely well from experience! We will also give you resources to prepare for your ACLS class. Feel free to contact us and ask questions on how to set up an San Carlos ACLS class with us.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
