Frequently Asked Questions About Hillsborough CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Hillsborough. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Hillsborough business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: What is a Hillsborough In Home CPR class? Do you also come to businesses in Hillsborough?

A: Our company was started with the idea of making it more convenient for people in Hillsborough to take a CPR, First Aid, BLS or ACLS class. Our instructors are all EMTs, Paramedics and RNs who will bring all of the training equipment to you for your class. You just need to provide a space for your class. Outdoor classes are fine, too.

Q: Do your First Aid certification classes meet OSHA’s First Aid & CPR certification requirements for Hillsborough?

A: Yes, we instruct ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid classes in Hillsborough because OSHA accepts those certifications to fulfill its First Aid and CPR certification requirements.

Q: Which professions are required to get a Hillsborough BLS certification – the CPR certification for healthcare professionals?

A: First off, always ask us if you’re not sure which certification you or your staff is required to have. We know CPR certification job requirements. These professions are required to have a BLS certification in Hillsborough: RN, CNA, Medical Assistant, Dentist, Dental Hygienist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, Medical Technician, EMT, Paramedic. There are other professions that need a BLS certification, so feel free to ask us.

Q: My baby is starting to eat solid foods. Is choking covered in an Hillsborough infant CPR class if you come to my home?

A: Yes, for infant CPR classes our focus is teaching you to recognize and respond to airway issues: choking, drowning, suffocation, seizures and allergic reactions. Fortunately, it’s rare to do CPR on an infant, but when it happens, often the cause is lack of oxygen. We bring all of the training equipment to Hillsborough home for infant CPR classes at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

Q: What is the EMSA required certification for my Hillsborough childcare staff?

A: We instruct American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED courses for state licensed daycare, preschool and childcare centers. This, along with the American Heart Association’s certification, are the EMSA’s referred Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certifications for Hillsborough.

Q: Are you now issuing eCards for CPR certifications in Hillsborough?

A: Yes, eCards are now replacing the traditional paper CPR certification cards in Hillsborough. It’s a much better approach in our opinion. Over the years we have replaced hundreds of lost or destroyed CPR cards. With eCards you always have access to your AHA, Red Cross or ASHI First Aid and CPR certification. Your certification can be printed like a traditional paper card or it can be downloaded as a PDF file. You can email your CPR card to whomever needs to verify your certification.

Q: Can I do my CPR class online first, and then you come to my Hillsborough location for practicing the skills?

A: You can do part of your First Aid, ACLS, BLS or CPR class online, but you still need to have to do a “skills session” with us to receive your certification. The American Heart Association ASHI, and the American Red Cross have quality interactive online courses. After completing the online course, our instructor comes to your Hillsborough business or home to practice the skills you learned about online – practicing with the CPR manikins and first aid supplies. For example, if our instructor teaches an entire Red Cross First Aid CPR AED course at your Hillsborough business or home, it will take about 4.5 to 5 hours. With the blended learning approach, the online portion takes most people between 2 to 3 hours, but this varies on people’s reading speed and familiarity with the course material. The skills session takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. This approach results in the same certification.

Q: Do you teach American Heart Association ACLS classes in Hillsborough?

A: Yes, our ACLS instructors are experienced paramedics who really enjoy teaching. We can do the entire ACLS course at your facility or you can do most of the ACLS course online and then we can come to your business or home to do a short ACLS skills session. Both approaches result in the same Hillsborough ACLS certification.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
