Frequently Asked Questions About Santa Clara CPR Classes

Q: What are the qualifications of the instructors who will be coming to my Santa Clara home or business for my CPR class?

A: All of our instructors are medical professionals. Most have worked professionally in ambulances as EMTs and Paramedics. We also have RNs. All of them take pride in the quality of their Santa Clara First Aid, CPR and BLS classes. Our classes are interactive and questions are encouraged, so ask our instructors to give you extra knowledge on the First Aid and CPR topics most important to you.

Q: CPR training is important. What about including First Aid training in my Santa Clara class?

A: We agree! Everyone knows that CPR and using an AED are life-saving skills. However, a Santa Clara first aid training class will prepare you for the most common medical emergencies: choking, bleeding, burns, using an epi-pen. Responding to cold and heat emergencies. Broken bones, seizures and allergic reactions. We teach First Aid and CPR AED combination certification classes, too.

Q: What skills are taught in an Santa Clara American Heart Association BLS class?

A: Unlike a CPR class for the public, a BLS class is geared for medical professionals that may have access to additional equipment and trained personnel. Skills include: adult, child and infant CPR. 1 person, 2 person and group responses are practiced, use of an AED – automated external defibrillator, using a BVM – bag-value-mask, advanced airways, responses to choking and opioid emergencies. Anyone can take an AHA BLS certification course in Santa Clara.

Q: I know there is a lot of training equipment in a Santa Clara BLS CPR class. Do I need to provide any of that or do you bring everything?

A: Our instructors bring all of the training equipment for your BLS certification class in Santa Clara: practice AEDs, ambu bags, pocket masks, CPR manikins that provide electronic feedback, and even knee pads! We also bring all of the audio and visual equipment. You only need to provide a space for our class – this can be a large room with open floor space or an outdoor space.

Q: My baby is starting to eat solid foods. Is choking covered in an Santa Clara infant CPR class if you come to my home?

A: Yes, for infant CPR classes our focus is teaching you to recognize and respond to airway issues: choking, drowning, suffocation, seizures and allergic reactions. Fortunately, it’s rare to do CPR on an infant, but when it happens, often the cause is lack of oxygen. We bring all of the training equipment to Santa Clara homes for infant CPR classes at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

Q: Do California child care teachers need just a CPR certification or also First Aid in Santa Clara?

A: Licensed preschool and daycare teachers need to always have a valid Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification in Santa Clara. AED training is also included in these classes. The First Aid material includes many topics such as responding to choking, using an Epi-Pen for allergic reactions, responding to burns, bleeding, bee-stings, and many other First Aid topics.

Q: I’m not sure which certification I need! Can you help me?

A: Absolutely! We know the First Aid, BLS, CPR and ACLS requirements for all industries in Santa Clara. It’s our job to make sure you receive the right certification so you’re in compliance with your industry requirements. We know OSHA, EMSA and hospital requirements. Feel free to contact us and we’re more than happy to work with you to make sure you’re taking the correct certification class.

Q: How long are your Santa Clara first aid and CPR classes?

A: First aid certification classes are 2.5 hours. CPR AED certification classes are 2.5 hours. If you have more than eight people for your CPR class, plan on 3 hours. Since there is some overlap in the course material between the two segments, plan on 4.5 to 5 hours. There is another approach called blended learning that results in the same certification. Your group does some of the course online ahead of time. Then our instructor comes to your group in Santa Clara for the hands-on practice portion of the class called a skills session. A CPR skills session takes about 1 hour. First aid adds another hour.

Q: What are my options for taking an ACLS certification class in Santa Clara with your company?

A: We can do your entire American Heart Association ACLS class at your Santa Clara business or home or you can do the “blended learning” approach – you complete most of the course on-line and then our instructor comes to you to run a practice megacode and some airway skills.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.

Tom Rooker

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

Sornam Sahadevan

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.
