Frequently Asked Questions About Napa CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Napa. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Napa business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: What are the qualifications of the instructors who will be coming to my Napa home or business for my CPR class?

A: All of our instructors are medical professionals. Most have worked professionally in ambulances as EMTs and Paramedics. We also have RNs. All of them take pride in the quality of their Napa First Aid, CPR and BLS classes. Our classes are interactive and questions are encouraged, so ask our instructors to give you extra knowledge on the First Aid and CPR topics most important to you.

Q: I want First Aid training and also want to get a certification at my Napa business or home.  Can I do that?

A: Yes, we teach ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid certification courses in Napa. People often think CPR and First Aid are the same things, but they aren’t. 1st aid training covers many of the everyday medical issues we all deal with: burns, bleeding, falls, asthma, fainting – as well as topics like stroke, seizures and heart attacks. Everyone should take a first aid class because these are medical issues you’re most likely to encounter.

Q: I’ve heard there is a particular CPR certification requirement for healthcare professionals in Napa. What is that certification?

A: If you work in healthcare you need a different CPR certification than what people in non-medical jobs need. We instruct the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certification for Napa. Clinics and hospitals in California follow AHA guidelines, so they usually require the AHA’s BLS certification.  If you work in EMS (EMT, Paramedic) the Red Cross’ BLS certification is usually accepted as well.

Q: Is there a minimum of people needed to schedule an Napa infant CPR class at my home?

A: There is no minimum number of people needed to schedule an infant CPR class with us. Your baby can be present during class, too. We’re available seven days a week to come to you, including evenings. All of our instructors are medical professionals such as Paramedics and EMTs.

A: Yes, we have a relationship with an AED wholesalers and purchase AEDs for our Napa CPR class clients. Our instructors will show you how to use an AED while doing CPR during your class.

Q: Can I do my CPR class entirely on-line?

A: If you need your certification to meet a job requirement, the answer is very likely no. There are numerous on-line advertisements for on-line only CPR classes. We frequently get calls from people who took an online-class, submitted it to their Napa company supervisor and were told the certification does not meet their requirements. OSHA, the EMSA and other organizations that make sure industries are meeting safety requirements are very clear individuals need to practice CPR, BLS and First Aid skills in Napa as part of their certification.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
