Frequently Asked Questions About Windsor CPR Classes

Q: You teach CPR classes at Windsor businesses and homes? How does this work?

A: In Home CPR was started with the idea of making it easier to take a CPR class. We bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment – you just need to provide a space for our class. We have several mobile instructors, so when you have a couple dates and start times in mind for your Windsor First Aid, CPR, ACLS or BLS certification class, let us know, and we will find a day and start times that works for both of us.

Q: What is the cost for setting up a class at my Windsor office or home?

A: It depends on the number of people you have. We do one-on-one CPR classes in Windsor, but that is an expensive way to take a class. As you add people to your class, the price per person becomes lower. You can visit any of our class pages and use the price calculator to get an instant quote.

Q: CPR training is important. What about including First Aid training in my Windsor class?

A: We agree! Everyone knows that CPR and using an AED are life-saving skills. However, a Windsor first aid training class will prepare you for the most common medical emergencies: choking, bleeding, burns, using an epi-pen. Responding to cold and heat emergencies. Broken bones, seizures and allergic reactions. We teach First Aid and CPR AED combination certification classes, too.

Q: Do you instruct the American Heart Association’s BLS certification class in Windsor?

A: Yes, the AHA’s BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification is often the required CPR certification if you work in a clinic or hospital. If you are a student in healthcare, you are also required to have a BLS certification.

Q: I want a infant CPR class at my Windsor home. Can my baby be present during the class?

A: Yes! Every year we instruct hundreds of infant CPR classes in Windsor and other Bay Area cities.  We’re very used to having babies present during classes and we understand if you need to take a break to tend to your baby. Unlike a class in a classroom with other students, infant CPR classes in your home are ideal because it’s just your family and the instructor. Many of our instructors have children, so we know the challenges of arranging for babysitters. Don’t sweat it – your baby is welcome to join us!

Q: What is the EMSA required certification for my Windsor childcare staff?

A: We instruct American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED courses for state licensed daycare, preschool and childcare centers. This, along with the American Heart Association’s certification, are the EMSA’s referred Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certifications for Windsor.

Q: Are you now issuing eCards for CPR certifications in Windsor?

A: Yes, eCards are now replacing the traditional paper CPR certification cards in Windsor. It’s a much better approach in our opinion. Over the years we have replaced hundreds of lost or destroyed CPR cards. With eCards you always have access to your AHA, Red Cross or ASHI First Aid and CPR certification. Your certification can be printed like a traditional paper card or it can be downloaded as a PDF file. You can email your CPR card to whomever needs to verify your certification.

Q: Can I do my CPR class online first, and then you come to my Windsor location for practicing the skills?

A: You can do part of your First Aid, ACLS, BLS or CPR class online, but you still need to have to do a “skills session” with us to receive your certification. The American Heart Association ASHI, and the American Red Cross have quality interactive online courses. After completing the online course, our instructor comes to your Windsor business or home to practice the skills you learned about online – practicing with the CPR manikins and first aid supplies. For example, if our instructor teaches an entire Red Cross First Aid CPR AED course at your Windsor business or home, it will take about 4.5 to 5 hours. With the blended learning approach, the online portion takes most people between 2 to 3 hours, but this varies on people’s reading speed and familiarity with the course material. The skills session takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. This approach results in the same certification.

Q: What is the minimum number of people needed to set up a Windsor CPR class at my business or home?

A: There is no minimum number of people needed to set up a First Aid, BLS or CPR class in Windsor with us. The more people you have, the less it will cost per person. We can handle classes of up to about 100 people.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
