Redwood City First Aid, CPR & BLS Certification Classes Taught At Your Home Or Business

Since 2010, In Home CPR has been coming to Redwood City businesses and homes to teach CPR, First Aid and BLS certification classes.

We are available seven days a week, including evenings to come to you.  There is no minimum number of students needed to schedule a class with us.

CPR Essentials

The Redwood City CPR Essentials Class is a non-certification infant and/or toddler-focused class customized for new and expecting parents. It’s an interactive class and questions are encouraged. You will learn infant CPR and responding to airway emergencies such as seizures, choking, drowning, and allergic reactions.

CPR AED Class

CPR AED certification classes taught in Redwood City are an ASHI two-year certification course for non-medical professionals. A portion of the class can be done online ahead of time, followed by a short skills practice session with our instructor. We use electronic feedback manikins that let you know if you are doing CPR correctly.

BLS for Healthcare Providers

BLS certification classes in Redwood City are the required CPR certification for people who work in healthcare and for healthcare students. Certifications are from the American Heart Association.

First Aid Class

Redwood City First Aid classes are for non-medical professionals who need a First Aid certification. Certifications are from ASHI, meeting OSHA requirements and are valid for two years.

First Aid CPR AED Classes

Redwood City certification classes for First Aid & CPR AED are ASHI certifications that meet OSHA requirements and are valid for two years. ASHI First Aid classes cover topics such as heart attack, stroke, low blood sugar, diabetic emergencies, fainting, concussions, burns, bleeding and many other common topics.

Pediatric First Aid AED CPR Class

Pediatric first aid CPR AED certification classes for Redwood City meet the EMSA’s requirements for licensed childcare providers in California. Choking, allergic reactions, epi-pen use, concussions, seizures, and many other topics are covered in this Red Cross certification course.

ACLS Class

American Heart Association ACLS certifications in Redwood City are easy to schedule with us. Blended learning approaches – most of the ACLS certification course online, followed by a “skills session” with our instructor is a great approach for ACLS recertification.

Frequently Asked Questions About Redwood City CPR Classes

Q: What is the advantage of having a CPR class at my business? Currently, we send our staff to a local classroom in Redwood City with scheduled CPR classes.

A: Most of our instructors are EMTs and Paramedics who have years of arriving at businesses via a 911 call. It’s not uncommon for them to find the victim’s co-workers panicking, disorganized and sometimes even arguing about how to help. When company employees do not train together, they’re frequently not on the same page about how to respond. When we come to your Redwood City business for a First Aid, CPR or BLS class, we will train your staff how to respond as a group in your office. It’s the best way to prepare your staff to provide First Aid or CPR for a coworker.

Q: What is the cost for setting up a class at my Redwood City office or home?

A: It depends on the number of people you have. We do one-on-one CPR classes in Redwood City, but that is an expensive way to take a class. As you add people to your class, the price per person becomes lower. You can visit any of our class pages and use the price calculator to get an instant quote.

Q: Do you teach First Aid Training in Redwood City?

A: Yes, we offer American Red Cross First Aid and ASHI certification classes in Redwood City. People know they should take a CPR class, but first aid training is often overlooked. Eventually, all of us either experience or respond to bleeding, burns, falls and broken bones. It’s good to know how to properly respond when a loved one needs your help or you need to help yourself.

Q: How long is a Redwood City American Heart Association BLS certification valid for?

A: All AHA BLS certification cards last for two years. There are two different ways you can take a BLS renewal certification class. 1) We can come to your Redwood City office or home and instruct the entire BLS class. 2) You can do some of the BLS course online ahead of time. Then our instructor comes to you for a BLS “skills session” – the hands-on portion of the class: practicing with the CPR manikins and other BLS training supplies. Both approaches result in the American Heart Association BLS certification. You will receive your BLS certification card the day of your class.

Q: I want an infant CPR class for my family. Do you bring the infant manikins to my Redwood City home?

A: Yes, our instructor will bring all of the training equipment, including infant CPR manikins that provide real-time electronic feedback. You only need to provide a space to have our class. It’s an interactive class; questions are encouraged. Your instructor will be a medical professional.

Q: Do babysitters and nannies need the same Redwood City Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification as childcare and preschool teachers?

A: They do not. Babysitters and nannies are not regulated by the EMSA – the agency that requires First Aid & CPR AED certifications for licensed childcare facilities in Redwood City. However, many parents like the idea that the person caring for their infant, toddler or child has CPR and First Aid training. So if you are coming to homes to take care of children, it could improve your chance of being hired if you can show a First Aid & CPR certification.

Q: I’m not sure which certification I need! Can you help me?

A: Absolutely! We know the First Aid, BLS, CPR and ACLS requirements for all industries in Redwood City. It’s our job to make sure you receive the right certification so you’re in compliance with your industry requirements. We know OSHA, EMSA and hospital requirements. Feel free to contact us and we’re more than happy to work with you to make sure you’re taking the correct certification class.

Q: I want to get CPR certified, but I heard there is a written test. Is that true?

A: There is no written test to get CPR certified in Redwood City. ASHI and American Red Cross CPR certification courses focus on understanding skills via a DVD and the instructor, along with plenty of hands-on practice.

Q: Do you do on-line ACLS classes for people Redwood City?

A: The American Heart Association allows students to do most of their ACLS course online.  Then our instructor comes to your Redwood City business or home to do an ACLS Skills Sessions – running a megacode and practicing airway skills. Anyone who has taken an ACLS certification class knows it’s a long class! Many of our long-time ACLS students really like the on-line/in-person approach to renewing their ACLS certification.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
