Frequently Asked Questions About Atherton CPR Classes

Q: You teach CPR classes at Atherton businesses and homes? How does this work?

A: In Home CPR was started with the idea of making it easier to take a CPR class. We bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment – you just need to provide a space for our class. We have several mobile instructors, so when you have a couple dates and start times in mind for your Atherton First Aid, CPR, ACLS or BLS certification class, let us know, and we will find a day and start times that works for both of us.

Q: What days and times is In Home CPR available to come to my business or home in Atherton?

A: We are available seven days a week, including evenings to teach a Atherton CPR certification class at your home or business. Our instructors are all medical professionals who have real-life experience responding to medical emergencies.

Q: Do you teach First Aid Training in Atherton?

A: Yes, we offer American Red Cross First Aid and ASHI certification classes in Atherton. People know they should take a CPR class, but first aid training is often overlooked. Eventually all of us either experience or respond to bleeding, burns, falls and broken bones. It’s good to know how to properly respond when a loved one needs your help or you need to help yourself.

Q: I want to take an Atherton infant CPR class, but do not need a CPR certification. Do you offer that?

A: Yes, we offer custom, non-certification infant and toddler First Aid & CPR courses in Atherton for new and expecting parents. Unlike a certification class, the context is flexible, so our instructor can cover the topics most important to you and your family. We typically focus on airway issues: choking, drowning, seizures, allergic reactions and suffocation because these are the most common reasons to be performing pediatric CPR. First Aid topics such as bleeding, burns, poisoning, and falls are also covered. Preventing these issues from happening is also a focus.

Q: It looks like the Pediatric First Aid class is for childcare professionals in Atherton. Can a parent take it?

A: Anybody can take the American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification class. It’s a very extensive class and you will gain a real depth of understanding of how to recognize and respond to all the major pediatric medical emergencies. We also offer shorter non-certification pediatric focused First Aid and CPR classes in Atherton for new and expecting parents.

Q: Do you sell AEDs to your Atherton clients?

A: Yes.  We offer discounted prices on AEDs and AEDs accessories for our First Aid, BLS and ACLS and CPR Atherton class clients. More and more businesses are purchasing AEDs because the manufacturing costs have dropped. Feel free to ask us about buying an AED.

Q: How long are your Atherton first aid and CPR classes?

A: First aid certification classes are 2.5 hours. CPR AED certification classes are 2.5 hours. If you have more than eight people for your CPR class, plan on 3 hours. Since there is some overlap in the course material between the two segments, plan on 4.5 to 5 hours. There is another approach called blended learning that results in the same certification. Your group does some of the course online ahead of time. Then our instructor comes to your group in Atherton for the hands-on practice portion of the class called a skills session. A CPR skills session takes about 1 hour. First aid adds another hour.

Q: I understand First Aid training for a certification in Atherton has to cover required topics. But can your instructor cover First Aid topics that might not be part of the course?

A: When we instruct an ASHI, Red Cross or American Heart Association certification course, we are required to instruct the course according to the guidelines of those organizations. However, our approach to First Aid training and CPR training in XXXXX is to be very interactive with our students. We encourage our students to ask questions and if you ask about a topic not covered in your course, we are happy to cover it. Also, because we are EMTs, RNs and Paramedics we can give you a depth of understanding on any topic that goes beyond the First Aid training and CPR training of your certification course.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
