Frequently Asked Questions About Antioch CPR Classes

Q: What is an Antioch In Home CPR class? Do you also come to business in Antioch?

A: Our company was started with the idea of making it more convenient for people in Antioch to take a CPR, First Aid, BLS or ACLS class. Our instructors are all EMTs, Paramedics and RNs who will bring all of the training equipment to you for your class. You just need to provide a space for your class. Outdoors classes are fine, too.

Q: When I think of first aid, I think of how to handle bleeding and burns, but I know it must include more, right?

A: The first aid training classes we teach in Antioch cover much more than cut and burns. We instruct American Red Cross First Aid and ASHI certification courses. They include responding to seizures, broken bones, strokes, heart attacks, allergic reactions, how to use an epi-pen, poisonings, and temperature-related emergencies. We also offer pediatric first aid classes for licensed childcare centers in Antioch and non-certification infant first aid classes for new and expecting parents.

Q: Who are the instructors teaching your ACLS classes in Antioch?

A: Our ACLS instructors are paramedics who know the ACLS class material extremely well from experience! We will also give you resources to prepare for your ACLS class. Feel free to contact us and questions on how to set up an Antioch ACLS class with us.

Q: Do healthcare students need to take an Antioch BLS certification class or can they do a regular CPR class?

A: Antioch Healthcare students studying toward becoming a: medical assistant, LVN, RN, Medical Tech, EMT and Dental Hygienist need to have an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. Most of these professions require an AHA BLS certification, not a Red Cross BLS certification. This is why we only instruct AHA BLS classes.

Q: What CPR certification do Antioch childcare teachers need?

A: Licensed California childcare teachers need a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification for Antioch. The certification is valid for two years and needs to be accepted by the EMSA – the agency that regulates daycares and preschools. We offer American Red Cross certifications because it’s the preferred certification for the EMSA.

Q: I want to take an infant CPR class with my entire family at my home in Antioch Is that possible?

A: Yes, that’s what we specialize in! Everyone who will be caring for your baby can train together to respond to the most common pediatric medical emergencies: choking, drowning, suffocation, allergic reactions, seizures, and many more topics.

Q: I’m not sure which certification I need! Can you help me?

A: Absolutely! We know the First Aid, BLS, CPR, and ACLS requirements for all industries in Antioch. It’s our job to make sure you receive the right certification so you’re in compliance with your industry requirements. We know OSHA, EMSA, and hospital requirements. Feel free to contact us and we’re more than happy to work with you to make sure you’re taking the correct certification class.

Q: How long are your Antioch first aid and CPR classes?

A: First aid certification classes are 2.5 hours. CPR AED certification classes are 2.5 hours. If you have more than eight people for your CPR class plan on 3 hours. Since there is some overlap in the course material between the two segments, so plan on 4.5 to 5 hours. There is another approach called blended learning that results in the same certification. Your group does some of the course online ahead of time. Then our instructor comes to your group in Antioch for the hands-on practice portion of the class called a skills session. A CPR skills session takes about 1 hour. First aid adds another hour.

Q: Do you know the Antioch CPR certification and First Aid class requirements for my industry?

A: Yes, we view part of our job to know the First Aid and CPR AED certification requirements for Antioch industries.  Whether you’re a preschool that needs an American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification class or a dental office that needs a BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certification, we will make sure you get the correct First Aid and CPR certification for your industry.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
