Frequently Asked Questions About Livermore CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Livermore. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Livermore business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: Does In Home CPR really come to my home or business to teach a class in Livermore? Do I need to provide any resources to make this happen?

A: Our instructor will bring all of the CPR and First Aid training and audio/visual equipment to your Livermore home or business. You only need to provide a space for our class.

Q: I’ve seen 1st Aid Training and First Aid Training for Livermore. Is there a difference?

A: No, those are the same thing. We instruct the American Red Cross First Aid and ASHI certification courses. However, if your group in Livermore doesn’t need a First Aid certification class, we can create a custom class that suits your needs. We teach many non-certification infant first aid classes for new and expecting parents at their homes.

Q: I did an online-only BLS CPR renewal certification class and my Livermore work supervisor rejected it. Why!?

A: Never do an online-only BLS certification class. Those certifications are not accepted by any healthcare organization. And they shouldn’t be! You need to practice the skills of that course to be able to perform them in a real medical emergency. We teach the American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR certification course. It’s the required certification for anyone who works in a clinic or hospital in Livermore. The AHA now has an approach called, “blended learning” that allows you to do a lot of the course online, but you still need to have a BLS “skills session” with an instructor. It’s usually 1 to 1.5 hours of hands-on practice time with the CPR manikins, AED trainers and BVMs. It results in the same BLS certification as doing the entire course in-person with an instructor. Ask us about blended learning.

Q: I want to take a Livermore infant CPR class at my home. Can I schedule that with you?

A: Yes, we can schedule an infant First Aid & CPR class at your Livermore home seven days a week, including evenings. All of our instructors are medical professionals. Your baby is welcome to be there with you during our class. In Home CPR was started to make it easier to take a class when you’re pregnant or have an infant.

Q: What CPR certification do Livermore childcare teachers need?

A: Licensed California child care teachers need a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification for Livermore. The certification is valid for two years and needs to be accepted by the EMSA – the agency that regulates daycares and preschools. We offer American Red Cross certifications because it’s the preferred certification for the EMSA.

Q: I see you offer CPR AED certification classes for Livermore. What does AED mean?

A: We have all seen a person being defibrillated with paddles on TV medical shows. With advances in technology, now everybody can use a defibrillator called an AED – Automated External Defibrillator. When the AED is turned on it talks the user through what to do. Instead of paddles, sticky pads are applied to the victim’s chest and then the AED analyzes the victim to determine if they need a shock to get their heart beating normally. They are surprisingly easy to use and widely available for the public to use in airports, malls, gyms and sports stadiums. For our CPR AED classes in Livermore, we bring practice AEDs so you will be prepared to use one if needed.

Q: Do you teach Livermore onsite CPR certification classes?

A: Yes, our specialty is coming to businesses and homes to teach on-site CPR classes. We bring all of the training equipment – you just need to provide a space for our class.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
