Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Class Agenda
- Before Giving Care: You will learn to recognize a medical emergency and to know when to call 911 and when it is not necessary.
- Assessment: Checking a conscious person for injuries. Gathering relevant medical information from a victim.
- Choking: You will learn to use abdominal thrusts (also known as the Heimlich Maneuver) and back blows to help someone who is choking. You will also learn to respond if someone is choking and becomes unconscious.
- CPR: You will learn to do CPR using Prestan feedback manikins. Lights indicate if a student is pushing deep enough and pushing at the correct space to delivery quality CPR. Covers CPR for adults, children and infants.
- AED: Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are an important component of performing CPR — AEDs deliver a shock to help the heart to beat normally again and are now designed for the public to use. Our AED trainers are just like real AEDs — you will listen as the AED talks you through attaching pads to the CPR manikin, analyzing for a shockable heart rhythm and delivering a simulated shock.
- Sudden Illness: Recognizing and responding to shock, heart attack, asthma, anaphylaxis (allergic reaction), using an EpiPen, diabetic emergencies, seizures, fainting and stroke.
- Injuries: Bleeding, using a tourniquet, burns, muscle, bone and joint injuries, head, neck and spinal injuries.
- Environmental Emergencies: heat and cold-related emergencies, poisoning, bites and stings.

Who Needs A Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Certification?
When Do I Receive a Certification Card?
We can immediately award your certification at the end of your class because American Red Cross First Aid CPR AED student certifications are accessible on their website. Certifications can be printed on paper, but can also downloaded as PDF files, making them easy to email or text. You can always access your certification by entering your email address at this Red Cross website.
What are Your Covid Safety Precautions for my Class?
All of our instructors are EMTs, Paramedics and RNs so infection control is part of their professional training. We require students to wear a mask throughout their class with us. All of our training equipment is disinfected before classes and can be cleaned at any time during a class. If you have an outside space, let’s use it! Feel free to talk to us about additional safety precautions.
How Do I Pay for a Class?
We are flexible on how you pay for your class: check, cash, credit card or an invoice.
As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
