Frequently Asked Questions About Hercules CPR Classes

Q: You teach CPR classes at Hercules businesses and homes? How does this work?

A: In Home CPR was started with the idea of making it easier to take a CPR class. We bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment – you just need to provide a space for our class. We have several mobile instructors, so when you have a couple dates and start times in mind for your Hercules First Aid, CPR, ACLS or BLS certification class, let us know, and we will find a day and start times that works for both of us.

Q: Do I need to place a deposit ahead of time to book my Hercules First Aid and/or CPR AED certification class?

A: No deposit is needed to schedule your First Aid and/or CPR AED in Hercules. The cost of your class is determined by the number of people who attend. As you add more people to your class, the overall cost per person will decrease. We bill you after your class with flexible methods of payment: cash, check, direct deposit or credit card. We are available to come to Hercules seven days a week, including evenings. Contact us with a couple of days and start times to work for you, and we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: Our group in Hercules needs CPR certifications, but we also need First Aid certifications. Can we get both certifications in the same class?

A: Yes, your group can take an American Red Cross or ASHI First Aid CPR AED certification class in Hercules. It’s a single certification. All of the First Aid and CPR material can be covered during a single session with our instructors. These classes are typically 4 to 5 hours in length and result in a two-year certification card. You can also do most of the course online ahead of time, followed by a “skills session” with our instructors – the hands-on practice portion of the course. The skills session is typically 1 to 2 hours. Both approaches result in the same Hercules First Aid CPR AED certification.

Q: I work in healthcare in Hercules. Am I required to take a BLS class?

A: If you work in healthcare or are a healthcare student, you are required to have a BLS Provider certification. California hospitals and clinics follow American Heart Association CPR guidelines and often require a BLS Provider certification — and will not accept any other organization’s certification. Other healthcare industries that require BLS certifications include dentists, physical and occupational therapists. We always instruct American Heart Association BLS certification classes in Hercules offices.

Q: I want an infant CPR class for my family. Do you bring the infant manikins to my Hercules home?

A: Yes, our instructor will bring all of the training equipment, including infant CPR manikins that provide real-time electronic feedback. You only need to provide a space to have our class. It’s an interactive class; questions are encouraged. Your instructor will be a medical professional.

Q: Do your classes fulfill EMSA requirements for licensed childcare teachers in Hercules?

A: Yes! In Home CPR travels to preschools, daycares and childcare centers around the Bay Area and Sacramento teaching the American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification course. There is a lot of confusion around the EMSA sticker being on a certification card. Red Cross and American Heart Association certifications are exempt from needing that sticker.  Their certification courses are the industry standard so the EMSA does not require the sticker.  Any other organization’s certification must be approved by the EMSA, and if approved the EMSA sticker is required to be placed on the certification card to show its acceptance. This is why In Home CPR exclusively teaches American Red Cross and American Heart Association certification courses in Hercules.

Q: My last CPR class was so boring! Please tell me your classes aren’t like that!

A: All of our instructors take pride in the quality of their Hercules CPR, BLS and First Aid classes. They’re all EMTs, RNs and Paramedics, so all of them have taken many classes over the years. They know just how agonizing it is to sit through a poorly taught CPR class. They strive to interact with you and encourage you to ask the questions about the topics that are particularly important to you. Whether it’s seizures, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes or just recognizing when to call 911, our instructors will give you a depth of understanding you likely haven’t received in a class before.

Q: Do you sell AEDs to your Hercules clients?

A: Yes.  We offer discounted prices on AEDs and AEDs accessories for our First Aid, BLS and ACLS and CPR Hercules class clients. More and more businesses are purchasing AEDs because the manufacturing costs have dropped. Feel free to ask us about buying an AED.

Q: Do you know the Hercules CPR certification and First Aid class requirements for my industry?

A: Yes, we view part of our job to know the First Aid and CPR AED certification requirements for Hercules industries. Whether you’re a preschool that needs an American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification class or a dental office that needs a BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certification, we will make sure you get the correct First Aid and CPR certification for your industry.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

Sornam Sahadevan

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
