Frequently Asked Questions About Rocklin CPR Classes

Q: How do I set up a CPR class at my Rocklin business or home?

A: Whether you need CPR Training, BLS Certification or an Infant CPR class, contact us with a couple of dates and start times in mind and we will schedule a class with you. We can also train you to use an AED.

Q: What is covered in a Rocklin First Aid training class at my business or home?

A: First Aid training covers bleeding, burns, bites, falls, concussions, allergic reactions and how to use an epi-pen, recognizing strokes and heart attacks, heat and cold emergencies, diabetes, asthma, broken bones and responding to choking. Our instruction style for Rocklin First Aid certificate classes is very interactive, so always let us know what topics are important to you and our instructor will spend extra time during your class covering them.

Q: I’ve heard there is a particular CPR certification requirement for healthcare professionals in Rocklin. What is that certification?

A: If you work in healthcare you need a different CPR certification than what people in non-medical jobs need. We instruct the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certification for Rocklin. Clinics and hospitals in California follow AHA guidelines, so they usually require the AHA’s BLS certification.  If you work in EMS (EMT, Paramedic) the Red Cross’ BLS certification is usually accepted as well.

Q: Do you teach infant CPR classes at Rocklin homes?

A: Yes, we do. We also teach them at hospitals like California Pacific Medical Center. Our CPR Essentials course is a non-certification course that covers infant CPR and airway issues such as choking, drowning, suffocation, seizures and allergies. We also cover basic first aid topics such as bleeding, burns and falls.

Q: It looks like the Pediatric First Aid class is for childcare professionals in Rocklin. Can a parent take it?

A: Anybody can take the American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification class. It’s a very extensive class and you will gain a real depth of understanding of how to recognize and respond to all the major pediatric medical emergencies. We also offer shorter non-certification pediatric focused First Aid and CPR classes in Rocklin for new and expecting parents.

Q: I understand First Aid training for a certification in Rocklin has to cover required topics. But can your instructor cover First Aid topics that might not be part of the course?

A: When we instruct an ASHI, Red Cross or American Heart Association certification course, we are required to instruct the course according to the guidelines of those organizations. However, our approach to First Aid training and CPR training in Rocklin is to be very interactive with our students. We encourage our students to ask questions and if you ask about a topic not covered in your course, we are happy to cover it. Also, because we are EMTs, RNs and Paramedics we can give you a depth of understanding on any topic that goes beyond the First Aid training and CPR training of your certification course.

Q: I see you offer CPR training. Do you offer First Aid training in Rocklin?

A: Yes, we offer both. You can take a standalone First Aid training class or CPR training class in Rocklin, but you can also take them together. For people who need a certification, we offer American Red Cross First Aid certification training or American Red Cross CPR certification training or you can take a Red Cross First Aid & CPR certification training class. Let us know which class you want or need and we will make sure you are getting the correct training for your group.

Q: What is the minimum number of people needed to set up a Rocklin CPR class at my business or home?

A: There is no minimum number of people needed to set up a First Aid, BLS or CPR class in Rocklin with us. The more people you have, the less it will cost per person. We can handle classes of up to about 100 people.

Q: How quickly can I get my certification card for my Rocklin CPR class?

A: We’re now issuing eCards instead of the traditional paper First Aid, CPR and BLS certification cards in Rocklin. eCards are far more versatile than paper cards. Also, we can immediately issue them at your class. eCards can be printed like traditional paper CPR cards and also downloaded as a PDF file to store on your phone or computer.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
