Q: You teach CPR classes at Marin County businesses and homes? How does this work?

A: In Home CPR was started with the idea of making it easier to take a CPR class. We bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment – you just need to provide a space for our class. We have several mobile instructors, so when you have a couple dates and start times in mind for your Marin County First Aid, CPR, ACLS or BLS certification class, let us know, and we will find a day and start times that works for both of us.

Q: What is a Marin County In Home CPR class? Do you also come to businesses in Marin County?

A: Our company was started with the idea of making it more convenient for people in Marin County to take a CPR, First Aid, BLS or ACLS class. Our instructors are all EMTs, Paramedics and RNs who will bring all of the training equipment to you for your class. You just need to provide a space for your class. Outdoor classes are fine, too.

Q: What is covered in a Marin County First Aid training class at my business or home?

A: First Aid training covers bleeding, burns, bites, falls, concussions, allergic reactions and how to use an epi-pen, recognizing strokes and heart attacks, heat and cold emergencies, diabetes, asthma, broken bones and responding to choking. Q: Do you instruct the American Heart Association’s BLS certification class in Marin County?

A: Yes, the AHA’s BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification is often the required CPR certification if you work in a clinic or hospital. If you are a student in healthcare, you are also required to have a BLS certification.

Q: I want an Infant CPR class in my Marin County home, but don’t need a certification class. Do you offer that?

A: Yes, we do! Our CPR Essentials class is a non-certification class designed for new and expecting parents. It covers infant CPR as well as basic first aid topics such as burns, falls and bleeding. The focus of the class is airway issues such as choking, drowning, seizures, suffocation and allergies because that’s often the cause that leads to doing CPR for a baby. We also cover how to talk to a 911 Operator while providing care for your baby in a medical emergency.

Q: I run a licensed childcare facility in Marin County and need my staff trained. What is the correct class for us?

A: Childcare teachers are required to have a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification in Marin County. We offer the American Red Cross class because it fulfills the licensing requirements of the EMSA – the agency that regulates childcare facilities in California.

Q: Are you now issuing eCards for CPR certifications in Marin County?

A: Yes, eCards are now replacing the traditional paper CPR certification cards in Marin County. It’s a much better approach in our opinion. Over the years we have replaced hundreds of lost or destroyed CPR cards. With eCards you always have access to your AHA, Red Cross or ASHI First Aid and CPR certification. Your certification can be printed like a traditional paper card or it can be downloaded as a PDF file. You can email your CPR card to whomever needs to verify your certification.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

Lori Costabile

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
