Frequently Asked Questions About Solano County CPR Classes
Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Solano County. How do I schedule that?
A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Solano County business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.
Q: Do I need to place a deposit ahead of time to book my Solano County First Aid and/or CPR AED certification class?
A: No deposit is needed to schedule your First Aid and/or CPR AED in Solano County. The cost of your class is determined by the number of people who attend. As you add more people to your class, the overall cost per person will decrease. We bill you after your class with flexible methods of payment: cash, check, direct deposit or credit card. We are available to come to Solano County seven days a week, including evenings. Contact us with a couple of days and start times to work for you, and we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.
Q: I want First Aid training and also want to get a certification at my Solano County business or home. Can I do that?
A: Yes, we teach ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid certification courses in Solano County. People often think CPR and First Aid are the same things, but they aren’t. 1st aid training covers many of the everyday medical issues we all deal with: burns, bleeding, falls, asthma, fainting – as well as topics like stroke, seizures and heart attacks. Everyone should take a first aid class because these are medical issues you’re most likely to encounter.
Q: I was told I need a BLS CPR class for my work in Solano County. What is BLS?
A: We instruct American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR classes in Solano County. It’s a confusing class name and often gets spoken or written in shorter or longer versions of the official title. It’s the CPR certification for everyone who works in healthcare or is a healthcare student. BLS stands for “Basic Life Support”. The title “Healthcare” was recently removed from the name, so you will see “BLS for Healthcare Providers” still printed as the name of the course – and we still include it in our website to cue people in that it’s the class for healthcare professionals.
Q: Is there a minimum of people needed to schedule an Solano County infant CPR class at my home?
A: There is no minimum number of people needed to schedule an infant CPR class with us. Your baby can be present during class, too. We’re available seven days a week to come to you, including evenings. All of our instructors are medical professionals such as Paramedics and EMTs.
Q: I run a licensed childcare facility in Solano County and need my staff trained. What is the correct class for us?
A: Childcare teachers are required to have a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification in Solano County. We offer the American Red Cross class because it fulfills the licensing requirements of the EMSA – the agency that regulates childcare facilities in California.
Q: I see you offer CPR AED certification classes for Solano County. What does AED mean?
A: We have all seen a person being defibrillated with paddles on TV medical shows. With advances in technology, now everybody can use a defibrillator called an AED – Automated External Defibrillator. When the AED is turned on it talks the user through what to do. Instead of paddles, sticky pads are applied to the victim’s chest and then the AED analyzes the victim to determine if they need a shock to get their heart beating normally. They are surprisingly easy to use and widely available for the public to use in airports, malls, gyms and sports stadiums. For our CPR AED classes in Solano County, we bring practice AEDs so you will be prepared to use one if needed.
Q: How quickly can I get my certification card for my Solano County CPR class?
A: We’re now issuing eCards instead of the traditional paper First Aid, CPR and BLS certification cards in Solano County. eCards are far more versatile than paper cards. Also, we can immediately issue them at your class. eCards can be printed like traditional paper CPR cards and also downloaded as a PDF file to store on your phone or computer.
Q: I understand First Aid training for a certification in Solano County has to cover required topics. But can your instructor cover First Aid topics that might not be part of the course?
A: When we instruct an ASHI, Red Cross or American Heart Association certification course, we are required to instruct the course according to the guidelines of those organizations. However, our approach to First Aid training and CPR training in Solano County is to be very interactive with our students. We encourage our students to ask questions and if you ask about a topic not covered in your course, we are happy to cover it. Also, because we are EMTs, RNs and Paramedics we can give you a depth of understanding on any topic that goes beyond the First Aid training and CPR training of your certification course.
