Frequently Asked Questions About San Anselmo CPR Classes

Q: What is the advantage of having a CPR class at my business? Currently, we send our staff to a local classroom in San Anselmo with scheduled CPR classes.

A: Most of our instructors are EMTs and Paramedics who have years of arriving at businesses via a 911 call. It’s not uncommon for them to find the victim’s co-workers panicking, disorganized and sometimes even arguing about how to help. When company employees do not train together, they’re frequently not on the same page about how to respond. When we come to your San Anselmo business for a First Aid, CPR or BLS class, we will train your staff how to respond as a group in your office. It’s the best way to prepare your staff to provide First Aid or CPR for a coworker.

Q: Does In Home CPR really come to my home or business to teach a class in San Anselmo? Do I need to provide any resources to make this happen?

A: Our instructor will bring all of the CPR and First Aid training and audio/visual equipment to your San Anselmo home or business. You only need to provide a space for our class.

Q: I want First Aid training and also want to get a certification at my San Anselmo business or home.  Can I do that?

A: Yes, we teach ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid certification courses in San Anselmo. People often think CPR and First Aid are the same things, but they aren’t. 1st aid training covers many of the everyday medical issues we all deal with: burns, bleeding, falls, asthma, fainting – as well as topics like stroke, seizures and heart attacks. Everyone should take a first aid class because these are medical issues you’re most likely to encounter.

Q: I did an online-only BLS CPR renewal certification class and my San Anselmo work supervisor rejected it. Why!?

A: Never do an online-only BLS certification class. Those certifications are not accepted by any healthcare organization. And they shouldn’t be! You need to practice the skills of that course to be able to perform them in a real medical emergency. We teach the American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR certification course. It’s the required certification for anyone who works in a clinic or hospital in San Anselmo. The AHA now has an approach called, “blended learning” that allows you to do a lot of the course online, but you still need to have a BLS “skills session” with an instructor. It’s usually 1 to 1.5 hours of hands-on practice time with the CPR manikins, AED trainers and BVMs. It results in the same BLS certification as doing the entire course in-person with an instructor. Ask us about blended learning.

Q: Is there a minimum of people needed to schedule an San Anselmo infant CPR class at my home?

A: There is no minimum number of people needed to schedule an infant CPR class with us. Your baby can be present during class, too. We’re available seven days a week to come to you, including evenings. All of our instructors are medical professionals such as Paramedics and EMTs.

Q: I run a licensed childcare facility in San Anselmo and need my staff trained. What is the correct class for us?

A: Childcare teachers are required to have a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification in San Anselmo. We offer the American Red Cross class because it fulfills the licensing requirements of the EMSA – the agency that regulates childcare facilities in California.

Q: I’m not sure which certification I need! Can you help me?

A: Absolutely! We know the First Aid, BLS, CPR and ACLS requirements for all industries in San Anselmo. It’s our job to make sure you receive the right certification so you’re in compliance with your industry requirements. We know OSHA, EMSA and hospital requirements. Feel free to contact us and we’re more than happy to work with you to make sure you’re taking the correct certification class.

Q: What topics are covered in a San Anselmo CPR certification class?

A: San Anselmo CPR training classes are more than just learning CPR. First, you learn to assess a person who needs help and determine if they need CPR. CPR training includes how to do CPR for adults, children and infants. However, you can exclude particular age groups from your CPR training. For example, if the required CPR certification you need only applies to training in adult CPR, you can choose to skip pediatric CPR. The class also includes training to respond to choking and training to use an AED – an Automated External defibrillator.

Q: What is the minimum number of people needed to set up a San Anselmo CPR class at my business or home?

A: There is no minimum number of people needed to set up a First Aid, BLS or CPR class in San Anselmo with us. The more people you have, the less it will cost per person. We can handle classes of up to about 100 people.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
