Frequently Asked Questions About Pittsburg CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Pittsburg. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Pittsburg business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: How do I set up a CPR class at my Pittsburg business or home?

A: Whether you need CPR Training, BLS Certification or an Infant CPR class, contact us with a couple of dates and start times in mind and we will schedule a class with you. We can also train you to use an AED.

Q: What Pittsburg First Aid certification will I be receiving?

A: We offer American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid & CPR AED certifications for licensed childcare facilities in Pittsburg. This fulfills the First Aid & CPR requirements of the EMSA – the agency that regulates California daycares and preschools. We offer ASHI First Aid certifications for all other non-medical professionals who need a First Aid certification in Pittsburg because that certification meets OSHA requirements. These would include jobs like construction, athletic coaches, personal trainers, and school bus drivers, and anyone else who is required to have a First Aid course. You can also add CPR AED certification training to your course if needed.

Q: I did an online-only BLS CPR renewal certification class and my Pittsburg work supervisor rejected it. Why!?

A: Never do an online-only BLS certification class. Those certifications are not accepted by any healthcare organization. And they shouldn’t be! You need to practice the skills of that course to be able to perform them in a real medical emergency. We teach the American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR certification course. It’s the required certification for anyone who works in a clinic or hospital in Pittsburg. The AHA now has an approach called, “blended learning” that allows you to do a lot of the course online, but you still need to have a BLS “skills session” with an instructor. It’s usually 1 to 1.5 hours of hands-on practice time with the CPR manikins, AED trainers and BVMs. It results in the same BLS certification as doing the entire course in-person with an instructor. Ask us about blended learning.

Q: My baby is starting to eat solid foods. Is choking covered in an Pittsburg infant CPR class if you come to my home?

A: Yes, for infant CPR classes our focus is teaching you to recognize and respond to airway issues: choking, drowning, suffocation, seizures and allergic reactions. Fortunately, it’s rare to do CPR on an infant, but when it happens, often the cause is a lack of oxygen. We bring all of the training equipment to Pittsburg homes for infant CPR classes at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

Q: I run a licensed childcare facility in Pittsburg and need my staff trained. What is the correct class for us?

A: Childcare teachers are required to have a Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification in Pittsburg. We offer the American Red Cross class because it fulfills the licensing requirements of the EMSA – the agency that regulates childcare facilities in California.

A: Yes, we have a relationship with an AED wholesalers and purchase AEDs for our Pittsburg CPR class clients. Our instructors will show you how to use an AED while doing CPR during your class.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
