Frequently Asked Questions About Mountain House CPR Classes

Q: Does In Home CPR really come to my home or business to teach a class in Mountain House? Do I need to provide any resources to make this happen?

A: Our instructor will bring all of the CPR and First Aid training and audio/visual equipment to your Mountain House home or business. You only need to provide a space for our class.

Q: Do I need to place a deposit ahead of time to book my Mountain House First Aid and/or CPR AED certification class?

A: No deposit is needed to schedule your First Aid and/or CPR AED in Mountain House. The cost of your class is determined by the number of people who attend. As you add more people to your class, the overall cost per person will decrease. We bill you after your class with flexible methods of payment: cash, check, direct deposit or credit card. We are available to come to Mountain House seven days a week, including evenings. Contact us with a couple of days and start times to work for you, and we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: Do your First Aid certification classes meet OSHA’s First Aid & CPR certification requirements for Mountain House?

A: Yes, we instruct ASHI and American Red Cross First Aid classes in Mountain House because OSHA accepts those certifications to fulfill its First Aid and CPR certification requirements.

Q: I did an online-only BLS CPR renewal certification class and my Mountain House work supervisor rejected it. Why!?

A: Never do an online-only BLS certification class. Those certifications are not accepted by any healthcare organization. And they shouldn’t be! You need to practice the skills of that course to be able to perform them in a real medical emergency. We teach the American Heart Association’s BLS Provider CPR certification course. It’s the required certification for anyone who works in a clinic or hospital in Mountain House. The AHA now has an approach called, “blended learning” that allows you to do a lot of the course online, but you still need to have a BLS “skills session” with an instructor. It’s usually 1 to 1.5 hours of hands-on practice time with the CPR manikins, AED trainers and BVMs. It results in the same BLS certification as doing the entire course in-person with an instructor. Ask us about blended learning.

Q: I want to take an infant CPR class with my entire family at my home in Mountain House. Is that possible?

A: Yes, that’s what we specialize in! Everyone who will be caring for your baby can train together to respond to the most common pediatric medical emergencies: choking, drowning, suffocation, allergic reactions, seizures and many more topics.

Q: What is the EMSA required certification for my Mountain House childcare staff?

A: We instruct American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED courses for state licensed daycare, preschool and childcare centers. This, along with the American Heart Association’s certification, are the EMSA’s referred Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certifications for Mountain House.

Q: My last CPR class was so boring! Please tell me your classes aren’t like that!

A: All of our instructors take pride in the quality of their Mountain House CPR, BLS and First Aid classes. They’re all EMTs, RNs and Paramedics, so all of them have taken many classes over the years. They know just how agonizing it is to sit through a poorly taught CPR class. They strive to interact with you and encourage you to ask the questions about the topics that are particularly important to you. Whether it’s seizures, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes or just recognizing when to call 911, our instructors will give you a depth of understanding you likely haven’t received in a class before.

Q: How long are your Mountain House First Aid and CPR classes?

A: First aid certification classes are 2.5 hours. CPR AED certification classes are 2.5 hours. If you have more than eight people for your CPR class, plan on 3 hours. Since there is some overlap in the course material between the two segments, plan on 4.5 to 5 hours. There is another approach called blended learning that results in the same certification. Your group does some of the course online ahead of time. Then our instructor comes to your group in Mountain House for the hands-on practice portion of the class called a skills session. A CPR skills session takes about 1 hour. First Aid adds another hour.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

Sornam Sahadevan

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
