Frequently Asked Questions About Modesto CPR Classes

Q: I’m interested in having you teach a class at my business or home in Modesto. How do I schedule that?

A: Contact us if you’re ready to schedule a CPR, BLS or First Aid class at Modesto business or home or if you have questions about what class you need. We teach ASHI and American Red Cross Certification classes for CPR AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. We also instruct American Heart Association certification classes for healthcare professionals: BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS. We also teach non-certification infant CPR and First Aid classes for new and expecting parents. In short, we bring all of the training and audio/visual equipment to your location – you just need to provide a room for our class. If you know which class you need, contact us with a couple dates and start times that work for your group. We have many mobile instructors, so we will find a day/start time that works for both of us.

Q: What is a Modesto In Home CPR class? Do you also come to businesses in Modesto?

A: Our company was started with the idea of making it more convenient for people in Modesto to take a CPR, First Aid, BLS or ACLS class. Our instructors are all EMTs, Paramedics and RNs who will bring all of the training equipment to you for your class. You just need to provide a space for your class. Outdoor classes are fine, too.

Q: CPR training is important. What about including First Aid training in my Modesto class?

A: We agree! Everyone knows that CPR and using an AED are life-saving skills. However, a Modesto first aid training class will prepare you for the most common medical emergencies: choking, bleeding, burns, using an epi-pen. Responding to cold and heat emergencies. Broken bones, seizures and allergic reactions. We teach First Aid and CPR AED combination certification classes, too.

Q: I work in healthcare in Modesto. Am I required to take a BLS class?

A: If you work in healthcare or are a healthcare student, you are required to have a BLS Provider certification. California hospitals and clinics follow American Heart Association CPR guidelines and often require a BLS Provider certification — and will not accept any other organization’s certification. Other healthcare industries that require BLS certifications include dentists, physical and occupational therapists. We always instruct American Heart Association BLS certification classes in Modesto offices.

Q: I want to take an infant CPR class with my entire family at my home in Modesto. Is that possible?

A: Yes, that’s what we specialize in! Everyone who will be caring for your baby can train together to respond to the most common pediatric medical emergencies: choking, drowning, suffocation, allergic reactions, seizures and many more topics.

Q: Do your classes fulfill EMSA requirements for licensed childcare teachers in Modesto?

A: Yes! In Home CPR travels to preschools, daycares and childcare centers around the Bay Area and Sacramento teaching the American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certification course. There is a lot of confusion around the EMSA sticker being on a certification card. Red Cross and American Heart Association certifications are exempt from needing that sticker.  Their certification courses are the industry standard so the EMSA does not require the sticker.  Any other organization’s certification must be approved by the EMSA, and if approved the EMSA sticker is required to be placed on the certification card to show its acceptance. This is why In Home CPR exclusively teaches American Red Cross and American Heart Association certification courses in Modesto.

Q: Are you now issuing eCards for CPR certifications in Modesto?

A: Yes, eCards are now replacing the traditional paper CPR certification cards in Modesto. It’s a much better approach in our opinion. Over the years we have replaced hundreds of lost or destroyed CPR cards. With eCards you always have access to your AHA, Red Cross or ASHI First Aid and CPR certification. Your certification can be printed like a traditional paper card or it can be downloaded as a PDF file. You can email your CPR card to whomever needs to verify your certification.

Q: Can I do my CPR class entirely on-line?

A: If you need your certification to meet a job requirement, the answer is very likely no. There are numerous on-line advertisements for on-line only CPR classes. We frequently get calls from people who took an online-class, submitted it to their Modesto company supervisor and were told the certification does not meet their requirements. OSHA, the EMSA and other organizations that make sure industries are meeting safety requirements are very clear individuals need to practice CPR, BLS and First Aid skills in Modesto as part of their certification.

Q: Who are the instructors teaching your ACLS classes in Modesto?

A: Our ACLS instructors are paramedics who know the ACLS class material extremely well from experience! We will also give you resources to prepare for your ACLS class. Feel free to contact us and ask questions on how to set up an Modesto ACLS class with us.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.

Sornam Sahadevan

I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
